This L-shaped garden office was designed to make the most of an awkward corner plot that a standard rectangular build couldn't have used efficiently. The L-shape allows the building to wrap around a mature tree that the client wanted to keep, while maximising the usable internal floor area.
The structure is built on a bespoke ground screw foundation layout that follows the L-shaped footprint. Both wings of the L have full-height glazing at their ends, flooding the interior with light from two directions. The interior is split into two zones — a primary desk area in the larger wing and a quiet reading/meeting area in the secondary wing. The whole space is finished to the same standard as any room in the house: plastered walls, engineered oak flooring, and a full electrical fit-out.
